Uptwnkix was built from more than a love for sneakers — it was built from resilience, community, and a dream that refused to die.

Founded by Christopher Saldarriaga, Uptwnkix represents a journey that started long before the doors of the boutique ever opened. Christopher grew up in the Bronx, raised by a single mother alongside his five siblings. Money was tight, opportunities were limited, and life demanded maturity early. But even in the struggle, his mother made sure her children never went without love, support, or the belief that they could become something greater.

During his sophomore year, Christopher moved to Jamestown, NY, a place that would shape him in ways he didn’t expect. Jamestown became a second home — a community where he built friendships, found mentors, and discovered the passion that would eventually become his purpose: sneakers.

After leaving Jamestown in 2020 and moving to Reading, PA, life threw more challenges his way. But Christopher has always been the type to look at adversity and find the lesson instead of the loss. He worked at Dollar General for a period, and even there, his creativity showed. He began selling sneaker keychains — a small hustle that reflected a much bigger dream. When the job let him go for making money on his own terms, it didn’t break him. It pushed him.

He met mentors who believed in him. He found opportunities to sell sneakers — something he had already been doing for over 10 years. And with every sale, every connection, every late night cleaning pairs and sourcing heat, the vision grew clearer.

Eventually, Christopher returned to Jamestown, NY, the place that had once given him hope. This time, he came back with a mission: to build something real, something lasting, something for the community.

That mission became Uptwnkix — a curated streetwear and sneaker boutique built on authenticity, culture, and heart. What started as a dream in the Bronx, sharpened through adversity in Reading, and brought to life in Jamestown, is now a space where collectors, kids, and everyday people can experience premium style with real meaning behind it.

Uptwnkix isn’t just a store. It’s proof that your circumstances don’t define your future. It’s a reminder that passion can become purpose. And it’s a place where Christopher hopes to inspire the next generation — especially the kids who feel like they don’t have much, because he was once one of them.
